It is fantastic to see all the great global connections being made! We have now started pinpointed each connection on a world map in our classroom - so the more connections you write down the better!
As this is a learning project it would be great if the global connections could include some information about the country or place so that we are gaining new information and increasing our knowledge bank throughout this social project.
I am loving reading all of your comments and I cannot wait to see the map gradually fill up with pins throughout the rest of term 4.

Room 14 Flat People Project
This term our topic is Globalisation. We are looking at ways in which the world is connected and how countries, people and places relate to us personally and as a class or school. As part of this unit we are interested in finding out about connections that other people have with places, people, countries, cultures (the possibilities are endless)...
Each member of Room 14 has created a 'flat person' which represents themselves as a learner. We are sending our people on a global learning adventure in two different ways. They are seeking global stories and connections that will then be told to us via this blog!
1) Physical 'flat people' will be sent via NZ post. If you receive mail containing a 'flat person' then you need to follow the instructions on the back of the card. Then send the flat person to somebody who you know will 'play the game'. They then add their global connection to the blog and pass the 'flat person' on to somebody else!
2) Digital 'flat people' will be sent via email. If you receive am email with a 'flat person' attachment and instructions then please log onto the blog and make your global connection statement. You will then need to forward the email to another person (or people) so that the game continues on.
We hope the physical 'flat people' travelling around New Zealand (as we only have one term we wont have time for overseas travel via post) and the digital people will hopefully go global (these can be emailed overseas) so that our class is able to connect with other people and possibly classes in other countries!
PLEASE PLAY THE GAME OR AT LEAST KEEP IT GOING - if you are unable to blog for one reason or another then send the 'flat person' on! Obviously choosing people who are internet savvy and willing participants would be a good first move! (if you have connections to schools then it your be great to make those connections too)

How to make a global connection post!
To leave a post for the 'flat person' you have recieved in the post or on email follow these steps...
1) Find the name of the flat person on the post list.
2) Click on 'comments' next to the name
3) Type your comment in the box provided (make sure you state the gobal connection and describe it in detail...)
4) Click on the drop down arrow and choose to leave your name/URL (you must put a URL in for this to work
5) Type your name (first names only) and email address if you would like to keep in contact with our class
6) Select the post option and your comment will be sent to Miss B for reviewing!
You will not see your post straight away - do not panic! All posts will be sent to me so that I can check that they are suitable! Please bare this in mind when selecting your global connection!!
